AIR QUALITY
|
Nelson has an air quality problem as stated by the BC Ministry of
Water, Land, and Air Protection. Our goal is to address behavioural
patterns attributing to poor air quality. Through education we hope to
bring understanding and awareness to personal habits affecting air
quality.
Nelson area residents can access the BC Ministry of Water, Land, and
Air Protection PM10 TEOM readings by clicking here.
When you go to this site, select USERNAME: public NELSON NELSON
from the list, then type the password: cleanair. This will take
you to a page where you have to accept the conditions of viewing the
info. You can then look at data from around the province. The Nelson
TEOM was not running until after the worst air quality days of 2005 –
late winter and early spring, when venting is poor, people
use woodstoves more frequently, and road dust is airborne.
